Philadelphia Communities Conquering Cancer

A diverse group of Philadelphia community members and academic partners in a training session.

Philadelphia Communities Conquering Cancer is a city-wide collaboration whose mission is to listen to and engage and empower communities, organizations, and individuals to reduce cancer disparities by aligning resources, sharing information, inspiring research, and reducing barriers to the prevention, early detection, and treatment of cancer for all Philadelphians.

The team recruited community members to participate in a 5-week Training Program. On May 4, the group met for their final training session. It was an amazing event, connecting in-person with a wonderfully diverse group—spanning ages, genders, and cultural backgrounds. Lots of positive energy! The academic partners are excited to involve them in future research projects.
